"European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in rural areas."

The operation is co-financed by the European Union under the “Cooperation” measure of the Rural Development Program for the years 2014-2020.

The operation is named

“Quality Feed Management in Cattle Farming based on an innovative feed optimization system ‘Feed-360’.”

PURPOSE OF THE OPERATION

The aim of the operation is to develop and implement innovative solutions in cattle feeding and breeding technology by means of a more accurate automatic refreshing, feeding-table feeding together with the simultaneous feeding of additional feed components in order to increase the productivity and health of cows.

MAIN RESULTS OF THE OPERATION

The implementation of rational feed management by improving the efficiency of feed intake, reducing waste production, decreasing the risk of feed spoilage and overheating, improving its hygienic quality and, consequently, increasing the health and productivity of cows may contribute to the reduction of disease units. An improved method of organising the management of feed quality and the process of increasing feed intake by dairy cows – the use of Feed 360 allows the introduction into the feeding management of dairy cows of algorithms that constantly analyse feed intake in relation to the current microclimate conditions in the barn. The proposed solution will improve and increase the intensity and economics of production with a high level of safety for the animals and optimisation of operations.
